Like many of you I have had the TPW on my Vert changed.... First TPW was 12/13...then 1/31...and now Marvin has informed me that my "new" TPW is 3/14...I guess gm does not want my business..Maybe I should go look at other options...But I know that I want my VERT..And what a rare one it will (?) be..one of the few power top verts built durring the short production run of March(?) to July '05.. Trying to keep the faith..R.J.
I personnal won't wait but that's me. Some power tops are out there though not many. As far as the short run I don't know if that's a good thing or not but if that's what you want you should in fact wait. It was either before Feb or 06 for me and most dealers tried to talk we out of the power top (weight, issue etc.) and I don't agree with the reasons but I just didn't want to wait that long and my FORUM dealer is trying to screw me out of my deposit even though A. they knew I wanted by Feb and B. it has been delayed since accepted 5 months and doesn't care. Guys like Dave at Kerbeck says there dealership while they won't be happy they would refund because that's just good customer service and business which is why Dave is one of the good guys. Marvin for all the research for nothing great guy (my dealer once a week no exceptions) and Ken the vette man always trying to find you the car you want. If GM wanted C-6forRJ's business they would be making his car instead of some for stock. Sorry for the long post and negativity but that is how I feel.
C-6forRJ, GM obviously wants your business. The fact that they keep pushing back TPWs is frustrating to say the least.
If they're doing it on purpose by realeasing a few here and there to tease us, I think that's a pretty poor strategy. I think
there's something bigger going on like supplier problems, QC issues, etc... Right now IMO the only thing GM is guilty of is not keeping the customer informed. At a very minimum give an explanation to the ones that have been directly affected. Many people come off leases and at expiration simply cant afford to be delayed. I'm sure there are other timing factors also. Those that can wait it out will eventually forget the agony they went through once they push that pedal down. Easier said than done but 'HANG IN THERE' !
I can certainly agree that I'd rather see them delay shipping the vert to customers as opposed to shipping a poor quality product. Whatever my pain is now having my vert also pushed numerous times, would be made much much worse if I were delivered my car in poor quality.
That said, it is inexcusable how GM has been handling this issue. They seem to change TPW's at whim in the dark of night without so much as a peep. Their customer relationship skills are horrid as it would appear is their planning. As someone who has not owned a domestic model car for near 20-years, and was taking his first very tentative steps back, this could kill any chance they have to earn my business. If a company is willing to act this way with a $50k+ flagship product, can you imagine how they would treat someone getting a lesser product?
What a pitiful job especially for so many who have put down a good chunk of money. GM cannot show us interest, but they sure OWE us interest.
I’m going to hold on here and keep the faith, but unlike a lot of you out there I’m in a cold weather/snow state so I don’t mind and in fact it’s a bit of a convenience right now.
Having said that, however, I do think this has been a total blunder for GM, especially for the Corvette team, and not the way you want to roll out “new” product.
If it doesn’t look like I’ll get the car by the end of April, I’ll cancel the order and wait at least one model year cycle and try again, if at all. It may be my “dream car” right now, but I can dream pretty big.
Even though some of your TPWs have been pushed back, at least you have them. I'd feel like it was getting somewhere if I could at least can some type of production date. I've very surprized that they are taking this long! I haven't thought of anything else in the $60k price range that I'd want to replace this with though.

Chad, given how many delays you have had, I think you could easily win a lawsuit to get our money back.
Now, please understand that I am VERY much against lawsuits until every other option has been tried, so don't take my comments as over reacting. But I also have very strong principles and believe that business's need to do "the right thing". In this case, the right thing seems more than obvious. They have no financial loss if you cancel your order, and your verbal "contract" has been broken to deliver your car in any kind of mutually accepted time frame. I'd go to war if you really want out.
