Default C6

I feel like a traitor. Today was the first time I saw an actual up close C6. There were three at a dealership. Two black and one yellow. I was not impressed at all. I own a '95 C4 and honest to god I like it's style better. Not that I wouldn't own a ZO6 C6. That kind of HP would be nothing but awsome and I would never own a 'viper(small 'v' or a GT(even if I could afford one) I am a dyed in the wool GM fan but I was disappointed in the C6. If my C4 could do 3.5sec/60mph I would prefer to keep it than have the new style. It just doesn't seem like a 'Vette'. I didn't care much for the the C5 but it grew on me. Maybe the C6 will, but I just don't know. My age is showing I guess. I like the C1's thru the C5's but this new thing just wasn't right. Wave of the future? I hope not but..... Two cents and not a lot more

Why is it that its the people that don't own one or haven't driven one do the most negative critiquing of the car?

I had a 96LT4, and I had a hard time with the C5. I really loved the way the clamshell opened to reveal the engine and all those suspension bits. Five years later, the C5 finally seemed OK, and I've owned two since.

With the C6, I'm starting over again. It's different, and I'm sure I'll get used to it. In fact, I'll probably buy one before I do get used to it, because I know it's a better car underneath the plastic.

I had a C4, didn't really care for the C5, but I really like my C6. Are you afraid you might change your mind if you drive one?

The C6 Z06 is going to look quite a bit like the C6. Don't see how the extra horses could help you like it enough to buy one.

Ouch! I can feel the heat from the barbecue here from this and the other C6 thread.

Perhaps the C6 will grow on you. If not, there are plenty of more expensive toys out there!

In the past I had a C4. Now I can't understand why anyone would want to be seen in a thing like that.

Thanks for reminding me. I forgot to go to the Porsche boards to let them know I like the C6 better than the 997 I am not buying.

Oh no, not again!
The C4 is a great car, but I wouldn't condemn the C6 and future vettes.
It just makes you look silly

I think I will have to agree with Low 12s on this one:
Enjoy your dial phone and black & white T.V.

Hey, I just spent fifty g's on my new C6. If you don't like the way it looks, just lie about it.
You know, I think the Corvette C4 is the best looking vette ever made.

Dude,

I own a 92' bright red/red roadster, 6 sp, and I LOVE it! Having said that, I also own a mag red C6. You don't like the C6 styling, so be it... An entirely subjective issue anyway...

BUT, you get behind the wheel of a C6 after driving your 95' C4, man are you in for a surprise!

The difference in the way the 2 cars behave is night and day different with any comparison you want to make; power, acceleration, handling, fit and finish, workmanship, you name it.

They are so different from one another as to be only similar in name...

You really should try the C6 out before you make such broad statements... Fact is, your 95' is a dinosaur next to the C6...
