Go with the K40 Built in. Check it out online. The best unknown radar detector $ can buy. It needs professional installation because it's totally hidden from site. When you're being "shot" it will audibly tell you, and visually let you know with 2 led's built in on the dash. The led on the right is for the rear (right R), and the one on the left is telling you the radar or laser device is hitting you from the front. I know it sounds confusing, but this manufacturer makes kits for Vette's, Benz's, Porshes, etc that fit your dash so all you see are the Led's. The Laser diffuser is about 600 extra and worth every dime. I don't work for them , just used their detectors for years. Unobtrusive and garenteed. total cost around 1700.
Also - how do i put a picture of my baby on the thread?thx
I went to photobucket.com and registered, uploaded my picture, and used the forum's test site until I got it right. It's a little confusing, but you will figure it out. Also, check the sizing before you post.
I have the Escort SR7 built in. It is discreet with no wires or evidence that the unit is installed and It works great. I've been pulled over and the cops let me go with a warning and never saw the unit (cops used vascar that time). I'm sure I would have been ticketed if they saw a V1 sitting on the visor! The escort is a better detector, hard wired, 100% discreet and no wires!. Just a little LED in the dash and the control unit down by the kick panel where only I can see it.
This cost me about 600 for the unit and 200 for the install but it was well worth it. It's saved me 2 tickets already (I only have it 2 months)
