Default Alarm system question

I thought that the little lite on the drivers and passenger doors flashed when the alarm was on.. The only light that flashes in mine is by the CD player unless I pull on the door handle when the car is locked then the one in the door flashes 2 or 3 times.

Also...Why no gas guage in the HUD?

Hi Ron, congrats on getting your "maroon" car. The lights in the doors sense the fob. So how was the first day?

Mike

Reread page 2-13 of the owner's manual. That light on the top of the door near the window is an indicator light for the door lock ONLY.

If you use the door lock button on the inside of the car or on the fob, and if the door is closed when lock is pressed, the light will come on for a few seconds, then turn off. If the door is open when the lock button is pressed the light will stay on.

When unlock is pressed, if the door is closed when unlock is pressed, the light will flash 2 times. If the door is open when unlock is pressed, the light will flash.

The blinking red light beside the CD player indicates the theft-lock for the radio is operational. It blinks all the time the engine is shut off.

I had a hard time figuring out what the lights on the doors were. I've decided they just indicate the door is unlocked, but can't find it in the owners manual. Anyone else have an opinion?

Thanks ......
I guess I am doing everything OK...
Wow! What an improvement over my C5. Ive got a whopping 34 miles on it so far. Spent the day watching videos and reading the manual. Only disappointment...no gas guage in HUD!
The best part....
when I was driving home on I35 to New Braufels from San Antonio...car after car would pass me and people were turning and looking and giving me thumbs up! (And I dont even have an Aggie Decal)

GM puts out a $50K plus car and it has no visible theft deterent "system" . I guess it is all part of their cost-cutting moves - they saved 3 cents on a flashing LED, way to keep costs down GM.
