I saw that thread but I can't get a power top now I have to settle.
Chad -
I know you've probably gone over this about a thousand times...BUT -
Is it really smart to go the Power Top route?
#1. You lose trunk space.
#2. The manual top seems pretty ez to operate.
#3. The extra cost!
#4. The added weight.
#5. The time you're gonna loose because the car/top is going to be
in the shop all the time...!( All those little bitty motors...)
#6. You can get your car NOW!
Ino, Ino - it's cool having a power top...had an old Buick 'vert I restored and it was fun to lower and raise the top at intersection. BUT - that was back in the day when they used electric hydralic pumps and rams...very efficient (IMHO). Nowadays everything has to be electric and is expected to perform to a level that I don't think they can get to. The toleramces are a big factor and combined with a plastic body that doesn't seem to want to stay in one place for a given time ... I dunno.....think you would be better off with a manual top.

Natejohn you are right on every point but.
Trunk space, don't care stero system will fill the trunk.
Manual top would be no biggie like my c5's.
Cost no biggie 2K.
The weight don't care.
Time that's a problem.
Now would be great but its not like I am driving a pinto as a matter of fact I am keeping my vehicles just adding one.
Maybe I do like some others and buy now and trade for an 06 power top if they change tranny don't care about XM I want sirius. That's a new one. I have got to make up my mind this is killing me.
