I found a small dealer willing to accept GM supplier and place a custom order for a C6. They have one C6 allocation for the year which has already been sold. To order a car they are telling me they don't need another allocation since this is a sold car. They just place to order with GM.
Does anyone know if this is true? Does a dealer need an allocation to place an order?
Same thing happend to me. I have a GMS deal from a small dealer in NY State. The order is "sold" but still status 1100 until dealer has an allocation with which to fill it.
Yes BUT GM will give them a allocation for a car with $ down
Unfortunatly this is not the case with Corvette. Money down will not insure an order. He can give you his next allocation but that is determined by GM based on prev yrs sales of Corvette. We are a smaller/mid sized dealer and sold 8 C5s last yr. We have/had 2 for 2004 (I used the Nov 11TH for my ms/z51) We will prob get a 3rd allocation date late summer/fall based on converstation with our reps.
If you want a C6 anytime soon you will need to find another Dealer.
Try the Forum Dealers they may have what you want in STK.
Best of Luck
Thanks for all the replies. I decided to go with a larger dealer that has allocations available. Since the dealer is out of town, I'm trying to arrange courtesy delivery at a local dealer.
