Hey, all. Have any new owners had problem with color matching of the panels on your DSOM cars? I was considering this color for the new ZO6, but I heard some feedback about poor paint QC from the factory.

Thanks.
Heard from who? Mine is fine and I've read only good things from others with this color. James
I get nothing but complements regarding DSOM. Most people think of it as metallic copper, not orange, but whatever, they like it. In the past the Z06 has been available in a limited choice of colors. Maybe we will learn at the Detroit auto show what colors will be available, but it could be less than the whole list.
I left a reply on DC forum too.
My roof looks slightly darker than the rest of the car when viewed toward the sun.
It's minimal, and not enough of a problem to mess with.
No one else has noticed it on their own.
The top is painted elsewhere, so the match isn't perfect.

Rick Daniels posted this on December 17th about the Z06 colors.
It will come in Victory Red, Black, Silver, Lemans Blue, DSOM and Yellow.
My DSOM is perfect. I was told at the very beginning that it was a hard color to get everything matched.

I was told of this by my friend at the dealership who was merely passing along feedback from his other customers after I hinted at the possibility of choosing DSOM when it came time to ordering the Z.
As an aside, I've had some panels on my Light Pewter car that are clearly darker than others. Not all paints are easily matched, especially considering that panels are painted separately and assembled later.
I love the new DSOM, the post has nothing to do with questioning how good the color looks, I'm only trying to get an idea if anyone's noticed problems with the color matching.
Thanks to all (especially DSOM owners) for their replies.

The top and bumpers are painted by suppliers. I think the mirrors are also painted by a supplier. The best way to see how a color harmonizes with the body is to look on the sides where the bumpers meet the quarter panels. That is how GM does it.

I'm pretty sure it's only the top that is painted outside the plant.
