My wife and I have had the same problem twice! The car was dead for no reason at all. My wife went down the street for 10 minutes and came out to find the car completely dead. She couldn't do anything with it at all. To say she was pissed was an understatement! Anyways, I found the problem out with mine, it was a loose ground bolt to the fuse box and once I fixed it there has not been a problem since. Just let me say, to have a brand new awesome car that you want to show off, then have it dead in a parking lot, totally sucks!!! Just a word of advise, everyone check the ground on the fuse box and avoid the embarassment!!!

How in the world the quality assurance/quality control program at the GM plant miss checking for things like this.
I agree with you, it's not only frustrating looking at a brand new dead car, but also embarrasing. GM has got to either revamp the quality assurance/quality control program or revamp the way dealers do their pre-delivery inspections prior to delivering the car to prospective customers.
I have been holding off on the C6 purchase because of nuisanse problems like this, and other ones which I learned about from forum members. This is not just a car it's an American icon and as such it should be built with more attention to details PERIOD, I can only hope that Chief Hill and Mr. Lutz read about things like this and do something about it. They (GM big wigs) should take this to the next step. Find out from the VIN numbers of cars with problems through their dealers network, warranty repair order etc..., have plant managers, suppliers address these issues that keeps coming up, have plant managers discuss these issues during daily meetings etc... When I toured an assembly plant in Japan, I was amazed on how small a problem can be before the assembly worker can stop the whole production line and have not one but several higher up people come down to the line and address and fix the problem.
