Default Velocity is Cool

If we left the color name up to the GM Color Execs (all women) it would be called Daisy Yellow or Light Cannery Yellow or Magnetic Sunflower

I checked out the color on the Z06 on the Chevy site and I can't tell the difference from that pic.

Probably another marketing ploy--the Millenium is old news--Speed always Sells.

The Z06 yellow doesn't have the reddish clearcoat that MY does. It will be more typical yellow and not extra cost like MY.

The reference I saw said it would be a premium color and cost extra--will try to track it down

Default Velocity is slightly darker yellow

The Velocity Yellow is slightly darker than the Millinium. This absorbs a little more heat which causes the air molecules to be slightly farther apart. Thus, giving it less air resistance and making it slightly FASTER.

And you thought they called it velocity yellow for fun.

VY is a few shades darker, not so bright. Not as dark as the Competition Yellow of the early 90s, but heading in that direction.

Recent testing has actually demonstrated....farther apart the molecular dermis clearly creates increased vortesis, thus creating greater drag...SLOWING the vehicle. simple physics

Based on Newton's Theory of Gravitational Attraction, the reduced occurance of these (dissipated) air molecules will result in a reduction in the gravitational "pull" from the air molecules in the immediate vicinity which will in effect, increase the linear accelleration in the forward vector.

Try this poll again when more of us have actually seen the two colors side-by-side.

How many of us, looking at the leaked Z06 brochure, could tell it wasn't Millenium Yellow just from looking?

And JFTaylor -- what makes you think the color names aren't picked by women? Step out of your cave, you might discover that some women are smart. Even smarter than you. Anyway, it's not like women don't know what men want.
