I think I saw the number 5 inches posted in this section several months ago. I've been looking through all the C6 articles in Corvette Quarterly and Corvette Fever, but I can't find it anywhere. Don't take that as gospel until confirmed.
Not sure what a scissors lift is, but my C6 sits 3.5 inches from the black air dam, 7 inches fron the nose, and about 5.5 inches to the 4 lifting points along the frame rails.
Does any know what the ground clearance is on the C6?
Looking at a "sissors lift"
Thanks, Dick
That lift looks quite nice. Is it safe, the vette looked like it could teeter?
About how much is the lift. Is it practicle, is there a better way to lift a vette to get the wheels off to polish them or whatever. Is a socket good enough to remove lugs or am I old-fashion?
Bend-Pak, Eagle and Snap-On have scissor lifts. Prices run from $1500 tyo $3700. 36" or 48" rise. I will be looking at one next week. I have a 4 post lift now and use the jacking bridge to lift my C5 to remove the wheels two at a time. A scissor lift will allow me to remove all 4 wheels at the same time and still let me do service work.
Please post a picture of the device you are talking about. I am also looking at the "kwik lift" device. I would like to get the entire car safely off the ground without the use of floor jack at one end to put jackstands under then do the same at the other end. I'm getting to old and stiff for that. Thanks Jack

I like the look of the Kwiklift also, but the price is killin' me...Can't bring myself to spend that much for a few steel rails.
I have a kwiklift, and if you had the opportunity to use one, you would buy it immediately.
It is nicely built, and I could NOT ever go back to using jack stands.

I have four of them in my tire shop. They run around $1500 and can be purchased from most major wholesale tire distributors. My distributor is American Tire.
