My car now has 2300 miles. I've noticed a lot of light clicking noise when I start it in the garage with windows open. Sounds like a tappet noise.
Makes noise for only about a second, and stops when oil pressure comes up.
Anybody else noticing this?
I test drove a C6 with a few thousand miles on it. I mentioned to the owner that I heard a similar noise. He couldn't hear it. (or ignored my observation)
Could have been a tappet or maybe a slight exhaust leak.
Never found out. Didn't buy his car.
I've noticed a very slight tapping noise when the car is cold, but it lasts a lot longer than a few seconds (a minute maybe) and is very slight. Never thought anything of it because I've owned small block Chevy's for two decades and the hydraulic lifters have always made a little clicking at first. 'Tiz the nature of hydraulic lifters as far as I know.
