What drainage effect does the flashing security light have on the battery, if at all?(asking this question also as many have had battery problems). Sometimes have the car in the garage for a week without taking it out and wondered if it's ok to just leave it in this state or if there is a way to disable the flashing light or just not bother? TIA.
I'm not positive but I think the only time my security light flashes on mine is when I do not set the parking brake. When I park it in reverse and the brake is set I don't think there are any lights on in the car. I have the 6 speed BTW.

Check the flashing red light beside the volume control **** on your radio. I don't think the original post was about the security light on the dash, but I could be wrong.

Flashing security light? On my car, the LED only flashes when the fob is close enough to allow the door to be opened.

I just went outside and checked and there are no lights on inside the car. The light near the door handle will light if you try to open the door (I didn't have my FOB with me). I know on my wife's Yukon and my GMC truck there is a light next to the radio **** that will flash if you program a security code into the radio. I have the nav on the C6 and I do not remember seeing a light near it.

Yes, to clarify, I was referring to the above. i.e. the flashing light by the volume control. What is this, if it's not a security light? Have i got this wrong?

I guess NAV's dont have this, but the 6 disc has a flashing LED right by the ****. I did not set any code either.... And I did not have my FOB with me..

I had the same question the first time I saw it in my C6. I was told it is a security light. Evidently, it is not present in the Nav-equipped cars.
Whats really interesting is that if you look in the manual "Getting to know your Corvette, it doesn't even show this "Light" and I see no mention of it anywhere in the main manual? And yet others here have said they don't have any "light"

I looked at the manual and it says the security light should go out after 30 seconds (the one in the instument panel). I assume that the light flashing is the security for the radio. It looks like you do not need to enter a code to arm the security feature as you did on the older models. Below is text from the manual on the security feature for the radio.
"Theft-Deterrent Feature
THEFTLOCK® is designed to discourage theft of
your vehicle’s radio. The feature works automatically
by learning a portion of the Vehicle Identification
Number (VIN). If the radio is moved to a different
vehicle, it will not operate and LOCKED will appear on
the display.
With THEFTLOCK® activated, the radio will not operate
if stolen.
3-94"
I know this doesn't help answer your original question but at least we know you need someone with the standard Bose radio to answer.

Ok Thx..........but how come others here haven't commented/noticed this, as many have the same car and packages included? Is it necessary to have this light flashing, could it drain the battery, can you disarm it>

The current draw of a single LED is negligible when taking into consideration the overall power budget available in a car. I haven't done the math, but I would surmise that a slowly flashing LED approaches the natural (no load) discharge rate of a lead acid battery in terms of power consumption.
