Do little research about your car before you buy it.

Well, it would be a lot better if it had them. The clutch is very slippery when wet.

You can get a rubber cover at PEP Boys that will fit over the pedal. I've had one on my C5 clutch pedal for years - I haven't checked to see if the same size will fit the Z. The other choice is some nonslip tape that I found at OSH and put on the right edge of the face of the brake pedal to prevent slips during heal-and-toe action.

Don't get them wet! The rubber can also get slick if it is wet with just a little oil or grease. Clean your shoes first and use rubber soled shoes. The metal is there to give the driver a better feel and feedback.
