GM High-Tech Performance mag ---- reports the Devil will be made in '08 year. 650 HP Supercharged LS9 engine ... called the SS. They will also make a LS8 engine ... same except for lower boost ... making 500+ HP.

Regardless of price, GM should do it. Having to have it priced under $100,000 should not be the reason to kill this car. If it comes in at $100,000+, then it does. GM must build this car. And just to be perfectly clear, I love the Ford GT, but that has nothing to do with GM delivering the "Blue Devil." GM - do it, and do it right.

GM HighTech Performance mag ... claims the SS car will have LS9 S/C'ed engine @ 650 HP ... and a second LS8 engine with less boost will be rated in 500 + range ( which car it goes in is not known).

Heres to hoping these reports are wrong ....

GM should do the SS car with Turbos on a 32 valve engine. That would be an awesome thing to behold ..

There are always going to be car snobs on every forum. I would take what they say in the contex of who they are. Any real car guy is OK, no matter what cars he owns. There are far more Ford GT owners on that forum without attitude than those with attitude. Any of those guys are going to give a thumbs up to a Z06.

if i remember correctly Jay Leno's Toranado is pulling 1000 or 1100 HP this is the engine GM gave him for the car and then GM tuned it and tested it on there test track . I believe this is the blue devil motor J.M.H.O.

I am pretty sure GM provided Jay with an LS7 motor, but the Turbo's were added on later.

I am so friggin pumped for this car, I sincerely hope GM goes ahead and creates this beast, and I also hope they make it look as mean as possible as well!!!!

The only thing that sucks about this car is the $100,000 lighter my bank account will be because of it. Mentioned to my other half that this car may be coming out and she said 'well just have fun with your z until you can buy this one.' Damn I love her.

I just spent the last 20 minutes over at the fordgtforum and must say the $175,000 plus crowd is pretty snobby considering it's just a Ford! My favorite denigrating comment was the low opinion of the Z06 interior. Ouch! To which I say, the interior of the Ford GT is a cross between that of a Mini Cooper and a boom box from 20 years ago. It is one of the few unfortunate things about the car. Still, it lacks a HUD, navigation, and a few other amenities. And again, this was supposed to be about the "Azul Diablo" which will be so nice for the price.

$100K will be the downpayment. If this BD comes to a dealer near you count on a MSRP over $100K and a dealer markup of another $100K, Even Les Stanford won't commit to price they told me market value. Look at the mark ups on the Z06's count on much more for a limited production car, which the Z06 isn't.

Ah... i can see it now.... 17mpg...750bhp...2800lbs...125k. What if they use the v12 out of the cadillac cien concept, it had 750 bhp.
