Anyone see this yet?

If it's a dupe, my apologies.

Yes, this the "Carvaggio conversion" that has been the subject of many discussions/arguments here recently. It does look nice, but heavier because of the reinforcements necessary to make up for the loss of the bolted on top.

I think that this conversion is really nice. I was actually hoping that someone would actually cover the Titainium Frame and create a targa pannel that would lift out leaving the frame in place. This would give a similar effect without all the added weight. There should even be a few 'test mules' with all the roof delamination that is taking place.

Sure enough. Did a search (which I normally do first before posting anything) and up it popped...several times. My oversight.

Maybe it can eliminate the roof problems

Dan, I don't see how. It's the same roof, just unbolted, with hardware added to clip it in a la the C6 Coupe. I guess if you left it home in the garage, that would eliminate the problem.

Yep, just leave the roof at home, and it can't go flying away! I too would like to see some sort of conversion where the roof frame stays in place, and you remove a "smaller" sub-frame with the roof skin attached (a new skin material though). This sub-frame could fit within the existing (but modified) roof frame and fasten and unfasten via some secure type of quick fasteners. If someone comes up with this in a quality manner I may go that route as opposed to a dealer removing the headliner and half the interior to get at the roof frame to remove it to re-skin it or to replace it... Shoot, maybe I will design it...

Just being a little facetious.

Spoke with John last week and he is researching a glass top option. This would look nice on a BLK car and eliminate any roof concerns. I am sure GM will have this roof issue resolved when 07 production starts up.

I've an Electron Blue Z which suits me fine. Been waiting for all the first year bugs to be discovered by those like yourself ... who like to pay over MRSP for first year test cars.

And I'd like one with more HP/TQ, a better clutch, ... and the Targa look is a nice touch.

Also ... none of the current colors do it for me. Perhaps Atomic Orange will.

I saw John's car at Bloomington Gold this year, and I have to say it looked AWESOME!
I am going to wait a little while to make sure the kinks are worked out and have it done to mine.
