Built in Feb
Victory Red
Cypress (Houston), TX

Roof popped - glued.
Roof popped again - replaced with "new" top.

The replacement top took about 2 weeks to get.
This all happened in the last 1.5 month.

New paint looks better than factory.
Interior does seem to be a little less tight.

Overall = ok.

Yes. At least it is supposed to be. Part of the delay in getting the new top was that the part number changed right after the dealer ordered the replacement. I was first told 3 days, then 5 days later, was told the p/n changed and that it would be another week or so. Total shop time was just over 2 weeks.

The difference is likely only the adhesive type.
Update 07-25-06
I was driving on a highway and I thought some duct tape on my $70K car would be good until the new roof came in when a guy in a new 350Z tells me to pull over. I thought he was angry at something but he was screaming at me that me roof was about to come off. Obviously the car is now parked until the roof comes in and gets painted and installed.

keep the entries/updates coming...

does anyone know the official date the new roof started showing up on production line? late 06 models? or for the 07s only? I thought I remembered reading something about May 31st and this roof debacle (latest) fix?

Top made noise after 2mos. I put up with the noise until the top was litterly falling off. Approx. 9 months and 10k later.

Perhaps those who reply to this thread should also leave their Vin number, this will help us track this issue a bit better?

I have vehicle #450 delivered in October 2005. My roof began making noises after I changed the oil at about 2200 miles. The car was jacked up symmetrically. Thus even minor deflections are enough to compromise the adhesive. I believe every one of these roofs will be unsafisfactory in some regard. Many will come off. Others will make noise compromising the quality of the vehicle. In either event they should all be replaced. This sould not in my view be a dealer item. The roofs should come fully assembled and painted from a remanufacturing facility to ensure consistent quality.

The roof is totally off of the car now. The new roof came in last week and was painted. The dealer will install it tomorrow. Wish me luck...
