**Video** F430 Spider chasing C6 Z06 at Sebring
Spent Saturday at Sebring International Raceway for a track day in my F430 Spider. Had a great time. I didn't get as much time in the car this time because I brought my wife for the first time and I was instructing her in her M3. However in one session I got out with a new Z06 and got a couple of laps of good video behind him. Unfortunately my tires were pretty shot, but I hung in there. Next time I will go with fresher rubber.
Here's the video and a few pics:

The Z06 on the front straight:
A World Challenge car that was running with us in the garage:
Rain ends the day (fortunately it was already 3PM):

By the way, there's alot of magazine racing going on in this section right now. I think my video might show just how close all these cars really are. Driver makes all the difference between these cars. Any one of them can be faster than the other with even a slightly better driver.

Thanks for sharing!
It looked like you took it easy on a few turns, probably your rubber.
What lap times did you run and how did they compare to your usual?

A few notes regarding the performance:
We both had passengers. My car weighs a couple of lbs. above 3400 without driver. I would guess a 430 coupe to be 150lbs lighter depending on options.
My car was understeering at turn in and oversteering on corner exit. I was apexing a couple corners a bit early. This was in the AM and I have only been to this track once before so I was still finding my way around.
The Z06 was turning in later and apexing later allowing it to put the power down quicker. This exaggerated the appearance that the Ferrari would catch it coming into the corner and loose it down the straight. However the Z06 does seem to have an advantage at the beginning of the straight in general. You can see in the video that I was having trouble putting power down coming out of some corners though (the car gets a bit squirelly a couple times.)
This Z06 had Stoptech brakes on it. I do not know if it had any other mods to it. I have a post in the roadracing section to see if it's anyone from here.
Based on what I have seen at the track on several occasions I would guess that with exactly equal drivers the Z06 would beat the 430 around the track. I only wanted to point out that when you actually take these cars out on the track, they are closer than some numbers in a magazine might make you think.

Shows a lot of class posting that message. I like seeing Ferrari and high-end Porsche owners get out and flog their cars and enjoy others who do the same. I take my Z to PCA DE's and am treated really well. Of course, I treat them well also, it goes both ways.
Sports cars rock, there are too many great ones to be fixated on one brand or another. So this year it's the Z, next year the Viper may get some more HP, lighter, etc. and so on....I just hope it continues.
