Default GM is Developing 3 New Engines...

And from another website:

"Can't exactly quote my source just yet but GM is developing a Supercharged engine which you all know about by now. It will be pushing out close to 700hp. Also with the release of the Camaro, Corvette owners can expect a new 6.2L engine which will be good for some 435-450HP. The LS2 will be discontinued in the Corvette. They are also designing a huge 8.3L LSX based motor that will deliver close to 900 HP. It is not known whether this engine will be N/A or not. Also the 2008 Dodge Viper should be around 8.4L with close to 650HP.

I guess you can never have enough HP."

I posted this a while back! It might help. Dodge is working on another High HP car. The mustang will be strong in 09 also.

Until GM releases a confirmation or a press release regarding their new motors, I won't believe anything I hear. These rumors always start from some cracked out kid on LS1tech.com

Tim, I'm relatively new to this forum and the whole GM thing, but I find you and your information very believable. Thanks for the information.

Thank You! Your Welcome! I'm new also, and I can see why a new guy posting stuff don't carry much weight. But I don't post BS!
Everything I post, I believe to be true and correct at the time of the post.

It looks like were going to be seeing more and more horsepower. I can't say thats bad. I just hope we can keep it under control on the streets.

I'd like to know how they're going to "fit" 500+ cubes into the LSx architecture.

It depends on how loosely they're using the term "LSx architecture". I could see it if they mean "8 cylinders in a V shape", but it isn't going to happen in a block of the bore center dimensions of a LS1 or LS2 engine.

Default 500 HP in the 2008 CTS-V Cadillac

IF they are going to put a 500 HP engine in the 2008 Cadillac CTS-V.....you can be assured that the upgraded HP in the Vette is a sure thing sooner rather than later...........I still strongly believe that is why you're seeing all the discounting on 2007 Vettes in NOVEMBER!!!!!

I'm happy with 400 HP. I don't know what I'd do with more in NJ where the average speed is 27 MPH!

I won't be happy until I can launch 0-60 in sub 5 seconds from 6th gear. Bring on the new engine, Chevy!
