Mood swings on the dyno..
I had to post this dyno sheet as it really shows the kind of mood swings the ZO6 has due to stock tuning. These pulls where made back to back on a bone stock 2007 ZO6 with 400 miles on it. I logged both pulls and noted the following;
Both pulls where exceptionally richer then what I have seen in other ZO6's. AFR's where in the 10.7 range through most of the sweet spot. The second pull (in blue) was in major knock retard mode. Peak timing at peak torque was less then 9 degrees! due to massive knock. Air temps that day were decent in the high 70's.
Needless to say after adjusting many of the wonderful GM counter measures, we ended up at 492/458 in which the "mood swing" never came back!
Tuning is a must have for these cars!

To me, tuning is the biggest mod you can do to these machine outside of some form of forced induction.
Wow, 10.7 A/F and 9* of timing; that is terrible. That car was knocking it's butt off

this was the worse one I've seen yet. Seems like the 07's are setup a bit more conservative then the 06's for sure. Just goes to show you how powerful timing is!

Hmm now I have to find a reputable tuner around the Rancho Cordova area (I think there's a lot of them in that area)...
Anyone?
When is Jeremy Formato coming to Sacramento??

WOW! 492/458 with just a tune and only 400 miles on the clock for a stock Z.....that's impressive! Highest numbers I've ever seen....
