Cool GT!

After all it is a race car. Maybe a few coats of Rejex to help clean of the track turds easier.

I think I'm going to need further instruction. You are referring to the car right?

I plan on using this car at least twice a week, sounds like prepping it constantly may not be worth the effort. As far as the Lexan, you are right, just thinking about it can scratch it. The key is too be very careful when washing it....and lucky me..I have no patience!

Mike,

Three months ago I had a test two layer tear-off installed on my stock glass. I was unsure how long it would last especially since I drive in the rain and use the windshied wipers (OMG)!

After three months, 700 +/- track miles and 3000+ total miles I am happy to report it has been a complete success. It doesn't have perfect clarity and does induce a little waviness but neither have been a problem, even driving into the setting sun or at night. There are no scratches from windshield wipers either, just dents and dings from the many rock hits! This is all on the first layer, which I may pull off at the track tomorrow.

Once you have it final painted you should cover the normal areas in 3M/Venture Shield. It is a big time saver not having to be careful washing and removing rubber. Since you will be breathing down the a$$ of all the other cars on the planet, you better practice safe driving and keep it wrapped up!

Dean

Thanks for the feedback Dean. I've been so occupied waiting for this thing to hit the track I really haven't looked further.

Tommy...I opted for the base model because I'm tracking it....the luxury model has CF cup holders!

This thing will mix paint faster than Home Depot!

Mike

oops, misunderstood that part. thats what i get for reading a post and replying when half-asleep. :o

Thanks to all you guys for not busting my chops when I post some nonsense from time to time. I've learned so much from this forum - that when it comes time to buy a Z in another year or two I will have a great head-start in the ownership experience, and a lot of great friends to ask for advice and guidance. Looking forward to posting from experience rather than "bench racing."

Anyway, dont know why I decided to throw all that out there, but Mike, whatever you do, keep the UAW GM lettering intact!

Thanks again for keeping us in the loop.

We've all replied to a post at one time or another misreading something...it keeps us humble!

When you end up getting your Z06, you may be the most knowledgeable person taking delivery without ever owning one!

When I went to see the car earlier this week I noticed the device in the hatch. It looked very close to the car's color. I thought it would be funny to see how creative some of the guesses were.

It's actually a workshop fan and has nothing to do with the car's functions. It's not there to cool anybody off. There was fiberglass used on an application inside that needed drying.

More very soon......

Fiberglass? That's it, you just ruined your creation. It's too heavy now.

I wish I had that kind of talent to know that...

I'll bet one of the Pro C6-R drivers would take one lap and bring it back in complaining it's off!
