Changes for the 09's
Not trying to start a 08 vs. 09 thread or looking for a "if you keep waiting for the next best thing to buy" response.
Just curios if anyone has any thoughts or speculation as to what possible changes IF any there may be for the 09 Z06. I've been giving this some thought and was looking at it like this. The 08 C6 saw a lot of changes. The Z06 is running one model year behind so...is there a likelihood that for 09 the Z06 may get a new wheel or wheel option etc... With the release of the ZR1 putting down 620 HP and the new CTS-V boasting 500+ HP does anyone see a small bump for the Z06? Anyway just thought I would get some opinions.

When, the ZR1 gets released. That's the question. Then, when you spend the six figures to get one.
As we all know. Right now, the C6 Z06, "out of the box" performance capabilites and it's price point are just right. Deals are getting better as well. Then add a little massaging, in exchange for not too much bread, makes this car an absloute monster...it's already pretty freaky.

I was hoping they'd do that for the 08.
Then I realized that the LS7 is a package deal. Theres no real need for more power stock.
They already have 960 Zs sitting in the parking lots, and if they make improvements to the 09, then they'll have even more 08s sitting there.
I think the Z will pretty much continue the way it is till 2010 or whenever its discontinued.
My take anyway.

But get real. The 08 Z06 with the T6060 and steering refinement...good grief this is a super super car. More power? You need more power stock? Does the C6 at 436 hp need MORE? For what? yah, yah , yah, I know. More power is either for track racing or street racing and I do neither.
What I personally want is a 1LZ at about $10K more than a nicely equipped C6 coupe would cost me. 505 hp. That must be close to 650 in the 60s way of calculating hp. That's crazy powerful. More?
My sights are set on acquiring an 08 Z06 . What they do with the 09 will be pertinent to me only insofar as it reduces the selling prices of 08s that remain in inventory. 1000 unsold Z06s is pushing a third of annual production. That's much more than just seasonal growth of inventory IMO.

I think a new wheel package is a lock. Hopefully a new color or two as well. (a darker/gunmetal grey would be perfect).
They should decrease the amount of Z06's produced by the number of ZR1's produced. So if they currently make 6,000 Z06's, then 2009 should have 4,500 Z06's and 1,500 ZR1s coming out of the plant. That would be the smart thing to do, but you never know.
If Chevy will
1. Introduce a new silver
2. Offer a new wheel design
3. Slight bump the HP performance (550 would be perfect),
Then I will certainly trade my 07 in for an 09 (because I also want that 3LZ interior).

It would be nice if they would offer the 3lz in black. I like the wheels just how they are now, I think the Z should get the 100 HP separation back over the coupe and the vert .

i'am sorry, but i think the car is just about as perfect as a stock race car could be. the changes from 06-08 have been mild but great. the only change i could see is ( still make the steering better ) that's all that's still left

And over 8,000 in 2007.
8159 Z06s produced in 2007 out of 40,561 total C6 Corvettes.
6272 Z06s produced in 2006 out of 34,021 total C6 Corvettes.
Well if your sights are set on an '08 Z06, then you might want to redo your math.
That 900 Z06s sitting on lots now, probably represents a little over a 10th of total Z06 production for the MY 2008.
