Driving you nuts? Heck, maybe I should put them back on.
Dean if you don't hit the grass you never know where the end of the track is.
COBrien,
Thanks a lot!
The good news is we received a light dusting up North and the Autobahn is bone dry!
Looking forward to seeing you run your new race car as well!

I'm figuring your race car ought to lap my race car every 5 laps or so...

Mike,
Your project seems to have produced an amazing track car.
I was struck with the thought of how fun it would be to pull up in front of one of the posh Hollywood clubs in this thing. Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, Bentlys, RRs, etc. are all so common-place these days. Bet this would get a panicked look from a valet, doorman, etc...

Mike, still somewhat on the fence, as it's between losing time for LeMans in mid-June or this Katech get-together in early May..been out playing so many days (Daytona & Sebring)...so can't always get away like lucky you! But it's definitely tempting, so it might be what-the-hell-just-go! Will decide this coming week!

BTW, WHAT the heck are the jack stands or whatever it is that it is sitting on ? Is that something you fabbed up or is it commercially available?

leefarah,
They are AP Racing nitrogen air jacks.....
Put the lance to the connector valve and the car is up in the air waiting for the pit crew to do a 13 second pit stop!
Except in the 13 seconds, the pit crew (Mike) must get unstrapped, get all the wheels and tires and then change them all....I have faith that Mike can do it in 13 seconds....

You know I was just sitting here thinking.....that's not always a good thing
The way you have documented this build from day one, step by step, picture by picture is a testament to your dedication to this project and you should be very proud of this fantastic car. It is deserves not to be taken for granted. Cars or should I say builds like yours don’t come around to often. I’m sure you did not build this for attention but for your own love of the sport. I say your car needs to have a story written up in some auto publication.
Being a multi –brand owner I’m on other sites, forums, attend and race in events relative to that brand car and all I can say is when a very special built car that even comes close to yours is revealed to that community there is a thirty long page thread, all kinds of excitement and then the next thing you know I see a write up in a auto publication.
Cars like yours are almost monumental in our Corvette circle. I hope this car, you and all that had a hand in this project/build will get the attention they deserve. In print!!
Look forward to meeting you also.....but more so your car Just kidding.

Adam has answered correctly and they are quite common on race cars. I still want to see somebody install them on a street Z06.
I posted about this in UPDATE #39.

Allan, I love the verbal foreplay, it's time you came out for a closer look.
David,
It's tough showing the project when it's so close to completion but not 100%. Everybody has been quite kind in restraining criticism waiting for the final product. I'm sure it's coming.

Depending on what I hear from Jason, it could be sooner rather than later. If not, I'll probably drop by sometime this summer - it gets too hot here to race in the desert in July and August.

By my count you have already offered 289 rides and there are still 5 weeks until the event! You better have your own private fuel truck, a 55 gallon drum of engine oil and six sets of tires at the event! I can envision both the P&M and Katech technicians busting a gut keeping you on the track! They better bring their A game.
Since you admit affection for track grass I want to see first hand how you mid-western sod-busters plant corn!

I suggest no heavy the meals the night before!
We can always have you sit in the driver's seat and make vroom vroom noises!
I liked the all yellow, it was easy to find in the Paddock!
Thanks Anthony,
Looking forward to seeing you guys get back at it with no GT2 car issues and taking care of business!

With the front fascia now black I was thinking of repainting the license plate holder a different color to highlight it. What about Lime Green?
It'll be coming.

Here's my view:
I will admit it was never my attention to have such a detailed account of this project publicly. I have posted a lot of it but certainly not everything.
In my very first post I mentioned how much I loved the Z06 and had taken it as far as it could go keeping it street friendly and legal. We had all been trying to find the perfect balance of track and street.
I thought it would be neat to show some of the things that go into building a car safety-wise aside from performance. I also thought I would have only 4 or 5 updates.
I must say I was completely overwhelmed by the Forum's kind words and constructive criticism (even though nobody realized how detailed this car was going to be on the onset). I received countless PMs asking me to post more continuously throughout the build, so I did.
As far as a story in print, I'd only be interested in telling the story if people wanted to hear it, The attention doesn't matter, my 15 minutes were up a long time ago. I would love to share the obstacles, struggles and sacrifices made to build it. (I think it would blow away a West Side Choppers episode and without the foul language. )
I look forward to seeing many of you at the Katech event shortly. I will do my best to share the car with you all and scare as many of you as I have time for.
