Whats is safe level to prevent blo-back which may loosen carbon pads.Is anything in crosshatch area O.K or should it be right smack in the middle. Please advise, just had first oil change, level is a above middle but below top, want to avoid any problems Thanks

In general (based on my 2 1/2 years of experience with the Z, including losing the lower pad due to oil), having the oil at the middle marker (measured properly) is advised, UNLESS you are one of the 10 fastest Z06 drivers in the country running on banked sweapers. In that case, filling it to the top mark and just not worrying about the oil dripping out the air filter when you come in after a hot session is the preferred approach. After all, you do not need the pad, and a dirty air filter is no big deal, but a spun bearing is not a friendly happening . . .
