Default Dealer called about my allocation today...

They are going to be allocated 2. I am the second on the list. They called and confirmed today to make sure I still wanted it and its at MSRP. Build date is projected around late July.

From what dealer said, and from what he understands, they are shutting the factory down for the month of July and August and building all the ZR1's. This is the first I've heard this but he said this is what he has been told.

The plant will be shut down for the normal two weeks in July and will then reopen. Target start date for ZR1 production is mid to late July. Unless plans have changed they'll build 1 per hour along with regular production.

Congratulations on your wonderful new car!

This makes sense to me. 1 per hour = 8 per day = 2000 for model year 09. They can build 32 Z06's per day. The ratio seems about right Others on this forum have stated that there will only be 1000 ZR1's built. Seems like a whole lot of bad info is floating around.

this will be my fourth Vette from them. Had 2 Z06's, a C5, and now the ZR1. They also own Lexus, BMW, Infiniti, and Toyota. I've had a M6 Convertible, 645Ci, FX35, GX470, LS460L, and 4 7-series from their autocomplex, plus other stuff. So long as they honor that MSRP, were in good standing!

With the economy in the toilet and getting worse all the time, dealers will be happy to sell the majority of these cars at MSRP or less after the first few charter members of the "more money than brains club" pay way too much.

Building all of the ZR1s for the year at one time is completely wacko. It is actually more than I can believe. There will be design defects. So the General is going to fix 1000 or more cars when the defect shows up?? This makes no sense whatsoever.

Makes no sense to me either. The motors are handbuilt and the carbon parts are limited production. I do remember that the '78 Pace cars were all built at one time.

Yes a very big IF they honor your msrp deal haha. Sounds like you've given them plenty of your hard earned money so you deserve to get this at msrp. Good luck.

...I've been searching around for my dad on a ZR1 and its seems our best bet is also going to be the dealer that we've bought our other 7 vettes at. He currently has a CL550, GX470, and CLK55, etc etc.
