Z51 0-100mph in 9.0 sec. Z06 0-100mph in 8.3sec. I guess the Z06 isn't that much faster than the Z51.....come on guys. Don't use the same logic with the Z06 vs. the ZR1. We all know traction is the issue here, not horsepower. Someone prove me wrong with the same tests done with drg radials.

It's the 0-150mph test that reveals much. This test minimizes launch and driver technique and really shows off horsepower and acceleration. The Z51 lags WAY BEHIND in this test, about 5 seconds behind the Z06. (HUGE DIFFERENCE). The Z06 is less than 1 second behind the ZR1. And the 100-150mph tests reveal only a 2/10s of a difference.

Magazines love to stir up crap on comparisons because that sells magazines. When you look at the price difference in these to cars the magazines and the general public are looking for huge differences. Perform a 20 lap or multiple pass drag test side by side and the ZR1 I fully believe will show it's muscles verses the Z06. The brakes alone should allow for better track times on the road coarse. The two measures in question for me is that the ZR1 has a weight disadvantage and possible performance loss due to supercharger heat soak. I don't see the supercharger heat soak being an issue on a daily driver but on the track I will tell you after owning a supercharged car in the past that once things begin to heat up, speeds and overall performance will go down. I have said it before and I will say it again. With my two kids to place through school, my Z06 is all I can afford. If I could place a ZR1 in my driveway, I would, just because it's the top of the line Corvette.
Just look at the ring times... it absolutely crushed the z06 by nearly 20 seconds a lap! That's about the same size gap as the current Z06 to the new Cadillac CTS-V.

You have to understand that the ZR1 is 200lbs heavier and when you start getting into 10's territory it takes a lot more hp to go fast.

That's the stupiest thing I have ever heard. It was the 430 Scuderia that's faster than the Enzo, not the F430. Have you ever even seen a Scuderia in person? I have seen both cars in person several times and will tell you the Enzo is beginning to look outdated compared to the Scuderia. The Scuderia is a techinical marvel and it shows on the street with it's design.

Why would a Z06 with 200 LESS pounds need more 40 more HP to pull a ZR1, and 20 less HP to stay equal with a ZR1?

I am so disappointed in the ZR1 that I would not have one if they gave it to me!

Weight plays no bearing when the cars are moving. Gearing, aerodynamics, and tire size will play a much greater roll than the 150-200lb weight difference between the two cars when they are moving.
