Why? If you like the color, I say go for it for a change in lifestyle.

Love the color! But it is 76 Large, when you can get an 08 Z for 20K less. (Just trying to talk to myself.....). Decisions, decisions. Spook.

Explain "road tank" as I have never driven a Viper. Thanks.

Let me modify my first post by saying if you've never driven a Viper, then maybe you should hold off buying one until you do . . . just like any other car purchase.

$76k? Wow that certainly can make your decision tougher.

If you want an attention getting car which is loud, crude (compared to corvette), and has poor fuel mileage get the Viper.

The only thing that gets me about the Viper is the mileage is pitiful, not that it would bother me much but my wife would have a fit!

If you have your heart set on the color and everything I suggest you get it!

Both the ZO6 and Viper are fantastic cars.

Funny, I sat in the car, started it. Dealer would not allow test drive....can you believe that? My first thought was that the exhaust note was way too quiet. The mileage is of little concern as it would be just my toy to take out on the weekends. Keep the advice coming. I am beginning to get more clear eyed. Spook

Find one to drive. They're not quite as civilized as the Z06 - but they are wicked fast, and a ball to drive. Be careful, though - no electronic nannies to protect you [from yourself].

I suffer from a little know disease (diagnosed by myself) of maximization. I always want to find the best, buy the best (within reason and pocket book). So talking to myself I say that I love the looks of the Viper, and the fact that it would very exclusive in this area (I know I'm so shallow), but on the other had could use the extra $$$$ to make a z06something that would leave the Viper for dead. Just kind of relating my thought processes. I told the dealer I would get back to him by days end....... Thanks for your thoughts. Spook.

They do sound wierd - not nearly as nice as a big V8.

Saw a new Viper ACR at VIR recently meet up with a guard rail. I know its about the driver, but all of the vettes there managed to keep out of trouble.

Yea, they have that formula car sound as compared to a muscle car sound. And if you remember I am coming from a 540BB 55 Chevy coupe. Or maybe I should just stick the cash in a CD and wait till spring...... How boring is that? Thanks again. Spook

Funny, that's the combo I wanted to get earlier this year. NO discounts at all....zippo! The vette was an overall better deal, so I got it instead.

Now with the major discounts, I would think twice.

I love the vette and have no complaints. But everytime I see a viper I wish I had given it a shot. Now you post this one that's available and here I go again.

I can't get it out of my head and I hope you can if you choose the vette.

Both cars are great in their respective ways. But for a toy, next time I will get the viper....if available.....

Personally I don't find it all that "crude"

Good luck !!

Any pics ??
