Greg,

As far as the ZR1, I'll venture to say much of this review will still hold true.

As a fellow Escalade owner now, You are qualified to start the Escalade vs. Z06 Thread!

...As far as I know we only recently had access to the mighty "V" up here..I may have only seen one to date.
BTW one omission in your fine review..the "V" is also a possible winter driver As far as the Escalade vs Vette...well...well...no comment

I should note that I am running Pirelli Winter Tires in the snow pic. They have provided fantastic traction in the cold weather, snow or not.

Yup She's a real fine machine...living here I'd be hard pressed not to take one home over the Z should I have the choice again !!

Nice stable you've got there ..!!

Nice write up Mike as usual!

The V with the Recaro option has the best seats I've ever sat in!

That CTS V looks

I won't even comment on the ZR1. You sneak!

Congrats buddy. You deserve it....them....hell all of them!

The Cadillac is a nice car for sure, but the problem with them is that their design becomes boring to look at relatively quickly.

For a fun car, I'll take my Z06 or your ZR1 anyday, along with my Tahoe for the wet and snowy days!

Good observations, Mike. Having driven both of your cars, I wouldn't know where to start (apples and oranges, etc).

Each car has so many great qualities. You're an excellent writer, you managed to create a fine comparison.

So let me guess this right...

You have a CTS-V

A C6 Z06

and a C6 ZR-1?

If yes, then you sir most likely make more then 300,000 dollars a yr. You are wealthy and I need a 70,000 dollar loan from you. thanks. Danny ;-)

Mike,
Did you trade your Z into Heritage Cadillac? They've had a yellow one on their lot since about December.

I did not deal with Heritage. I would be very surprised if my Z06 found it's way to another Cadillac lot.

Mike how is the ride just going down the road in the caddy??? I would assume pretty soft. But I would like to hear your views on it.

Randy
Randy,

Great question and I should have mentioned it initially.

I have updated the comparison, which probably will not be the last. :o

Ride and Comfort

I owned a 2003 Anniversary Corvette. If you remember, that was the first year the MR suspension was introduced. The ride was very comfortable while still exhibiting great handling. When going over a fast rise in the road, the car would hunker down and not get floaty.

The CTS-V has the latest version of programmed algorithms. And unlike the 03, there is a noticeable difference between Sport and Touring settings. When Touring is selected, the car is very smooth and takes RR tracks with no fear, almost like a hovercraft. The Sport setting tightens everything up and you can instantaneously feel the difference. Even with the Touring setting engaged, not many will find this car's limits, especially on public roads.

The CTS-V with the Sport Mode selected still runs softer than the Z06. The Z06 as you all know is quite comfortable given it's performance accolades. The main difference in the Z06 is you feel the bumps more directly, which is what you want in a sports car, direct and immediate feedback. You will see many pro drivers run their race seats with no padding for this very reason.
