Just got back from a 300 mile round trip with a new set of the NT-05's.

Got to take some pretty nice curvy back roads at speed and IMO the nittos cornering and straight line traction is much much better than the stock goodyears.

My car being a turbo car is a bit front heavy compared to stock and the car would go into mild understeer at initial turn in with the goodyears. It feels much better with the Nittos and when pushed to the limit in a corner the fronts would start squealing a bit but I never got the feeling of understeer as I did with the stock tires.

I could not sense any additional sidewall flex and it did not feel like the tire was squishing around on the rim during fast transitions. Fwiw I am not an expert road racer or anything like that, just my opinion of my experience with these tires on the street.

I can speak from experience. If you go with that temp you will experience excessive wear on the tread between the two grooves. I used ~31 psi for two autocross weekends and was seeing a lot of wear in this area. I contacted Nitto and asked them about the wear issues I was seeing...and they told me to run them at 40psi Hot. I used this at a HPD event and the wear was much more minor.

At a track event the NT05 behaved MUCH better than the GYs. I would not hink about the GY as being a more supportive or less roll prone tire. Just too damn harsh on the car and my kidneys. It's easier to have the car get upset on an irregular bumpy road because of the harsh GY IMO. No float sensation like on the INVO where it's absolutely noticeable and not really what I would call mild. Traction is great with the INVO and NT05. I like the NT05 much better.

I went 275 front and the understeering dissapeared completely. I found myself entering corners faster and sustaining speeds that IMO would have spun me off the track had I been on GYs. That's for sure!!

Went 28psi cold on a hot day as I had a fun street night days before. Went up to 34-35psi when hot IIRC, not 100% sure.

Do you think that would also apply to the Invos? I run 30psi cold. Hot they get to on average 33-34psi depending on how aggressive I'm driving.

I don't know about the invo's...I would recommend contacting Nitto and asking them. I would guess that you are in the right range for normal and aggressive street driving. Apparently the higher pressures are needed when you are spending a lot of your time above 1G cornering.

I'm enjoying my NT05s (and stink's nearly gone after a week). I've been playing around a bit with the tire pressures - these tires seem to be more responsive to small tp changes than the GYs with their stiff sidewalls. So far, I like 32 psi cold better than 30 cold (75*F ambient). When I get to the track, I'll try 38-40 hot to start.

I've been running 32 cold on the street also... I'll probably run 35 cold on the track (HPDE's).

Couldn't be happier with them - they break away in corners much more progressively than the GY's did. They also ride better and seem to have less road noise (or maybe different frequency). No feedback on rain performance yet, but they're far better than the GY's in every other respect!

I used 32 cold at an HPDE a couple of weeks ago and that put me right about 40 hot. Tire wear was qute good compared to the wear I was getting while autocrossing in the low 30's hot.

Better tire in every way than the GY F1SC.

Put mine on last Friday and D@#N they are sweet. My Z rides like a regular vette and there is no noise. Grip is fantastic.

How's the statement below for a comment?

Greatest tire I have ever bought
