Default Vinyl wrap ideas

Hi Guys, I've got an AO 08Z and I want to change my roof panel and halo to black. What do you think about doing a vinyl wrap instead of removing and painting them? I have no experience with wraps so my question is can they be laid on smooth enough to look like paint? I've even thought about using a carbon fiber, or maybe a matte finish.. Opinions, thoughts??

Good question. I'm just starting to look into the process/prospect/hobby of purchasing a vinyl cutter/plotter to get into doing full race wraps for friends.

Sounds like a great idea. If you don't like the looks, just remove it. It won't shine like paint, but still might look nice. Go to a place that does commercial wraps and let us see the results.

I believe a company called autofoil has a wrap that looks identical to paint and can be removed with no harm to the original.

Give a call to a local vinyl guy and run it by him. I've got a good friend that runs a vinyl company out of his home. He's done a few roofs on G35's and Z's but hasn't done a 'Vette yet.

It can definately be applied smooth like paint, especially if it's laminated...

Here's a link to something along the lines of what you're talking about. Just to give an idea...
