roof seperating on my '07 Z.....no recall????
The roof is separating on my '07 Z06. The bumper to bumper warranty is long gone. There are no recalls for the '07 roofs? I guess my only option is to buy another one.......?

Take it to dealer...I have early 07 that same thing happened 1 year ago - dealer replaced, no issues and great job.
Given current GM issues, you may have to make some noise, but should be covered under warranty (there should also be a recall as i know a number of people w/ same problem)

Waiting to see what ZR1 CF looks as replacement - please post pix.

You might be OK under the recall.
The early 2007 C6s with painted roofs, which would include the Z06, and the two roof optioned coupes, had the same roof problem, though most people think that it was only the 2006 models.
Take it to your dealer and they can check the VIN number and see if its one of the affected '07s.

Safety Car
The safety recall still should be in effect even if the warranty has expired. Look at the decal on the rear of the drivers door for the build month. If it says 6/06, 7/06 or 8/06 the car is probably covered by the recall. If records don't show your car needs the recall, you'll need to look up a copy of the recall itself. Any GM dealer can do that. It will show the cutoff vin# of 2007s needing the recall. One other possible reason your car isn't on the list is if the recall was done but it was "foamed", not replaced. Experience has shown that foamed roofs usually fail later, the only real fix is to replace the roof. If the foam repair has taken a car off the recall list it can take some careful negotiating to get a new roof. Bottom line, it's a known defect and GM should stand behind it if you can get to someone who will OK it. I hope it turns out ok for you.

Checked the door and it shows a date of 6/06.......the service history doesn't show any roof related repairs and when I pull the vin that don't show any roof related recalls..........?
Anyone know a dealer within a couple hrs. of New Orleans that could help with this issue?

If they give you problems, tell them you just need documentation that you came in and talked to them about it. When it comes off on the interstate and causes a wreck, you will be able to point the blame in the right direction.

Ross Downing in Hammond?? I think that is the one. Basically they are the largest Corvette Dealer in La. They should be able to fix you up.

I think I will give that a shot .
Does anyone have a link to anything from GM related to the roof recall?

If you have a known defect (and roofs that fly off are a known, documented defect), even if it is outside the warranty period on your car, they must cover it. This is a latent defect and just because your car is outsdie the warranty period, they cannot deny repair.
