Default Muffler Mod Finally Done!!!!

Well dropped my car off at Tony's Corvette shop in MD at 1:00pm today and by 4:00 I was back on the road with the B&B Fusion exhaust with the Mild2Wild switch. He also did an oil change and clutch fluid change also, but that isn't quite as exciting.

Back to the exhaust! Well, it was easy to set expectations too high by watching all the youtube videos, with cars that have an aggressive cam, headers, exhaust, etc., but there is no dissapointment here! I know this is a bit subjective, but here goes:

Valves open about 3X louder than stock. I will say at low rpms it sounds great and much louder, but at mid rpms (3-4K) it is only about 2X as loud. I am not sure about WOT as I have not got on it yet.

Valves closed, it is about 1.5X louder than stock with stock valves open, and definatley has low rpm grunt as opposed to stock valves closed.

Drone - Valves open, tons of drone, and I mean tons! Valves closed, almost none. Maybe 10% more drone than stock, and that is a big maybe!

I would say on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) I would rate it at about an 8-8.5 on a loudness scale. As for eliminating drone with the valves closed I would say 9.8. The elimination of drone really exceeded my expectations.

I have only driven the car about 25 miles with the muffler mod, and will report back if I find that anything changes.

One question - do the mufflers need time to break in? Will they get louder/quieter over time, or no noticable difference? Finally should I not get on it for a while during the break in period, or is that not necessary?

Overall I am super pleased with the set up!!! 8/10 on the loudness scale with the ability to all but eliminate drone, is better than 10/10 on loudness with constant drone in my opinion. I would be very interested to here the opinon of others who have the exhaust.

They are sweet. Almost had them put on at Bloomington Gold, but they wanted 1900 hundo I have already done the muffler mod so i couldn't justify the difference.
And there is no breakin, let it rip.
Enjoy

When you talk about "muffler mod", this isn't cutting open the stock exhaust, correct??

On this forum, that is usually what "muffler mod" refers to. I have never heard of a muffler that needs to be broken in. It's just a tin can.

Stupid me. I'll cut mine apart, measure clearances, and recheck in 500 miles.
