New Z06 in the Garage
Many times a reader, first time to post.
I've enjoyed a 2001 Millenium Yellow 6-Speed for the last 8-summers. It was my first Vette, it bit me hard, loved that car more every time I drove it. Decided I needed a little more kick in the pants.
Sold it last week and that lasted about 36 hours before I purchased a new 2008 Victory Red ZO6 loaded. I wanted a new Vette, but I'm not sure I needed this much Vette!
The Z06 had been in inventory at Ogden Chevrolet, Chicago, IL for over a year and the price was too low to pass up.
The interior is a tremendous improvement over a base model '01. I love the heads up display. However, I do miss a glass top and open air driving. The fixed roof makes the cabin a little more "intimate".
Trying to keep it tame during the break-in period. Just punching it out to +/- 3,500 RPM in 2nd gear is a gas!!
Any tips or recommendations, men?

Had it not been discounted as it was I'd probably have passed, ended up trading my '06 Z51 car on an '09 Z51.
Instead I got the chance to own a genuine supercar in every sense of the word.
I missed the removable panel, also; however, found the anonymity kind of nice since almost everywhere I drive the car people are cranning their necks to see WTH's driving.
You're coming from a LS1.
I owned a '03 AE w/ LS1 & an '06 LS2 so lemme tell ya.
Be VERY careful where & when you decide to put the spurs to your LS7, my friend.
The LS7 is a wildly different beast than anything Chevrolet's ever manufactured.
Wilder than any car I've ever driven, and I've driven a lot.
Takes mere seconds to be so far north of legal it's rediculous.
If a LEO happens to set down his donuts long enough to clock ya when you're on it, it'll cost you a king's ransom to get your kester outa stir. That's a fact.
Add to the above word of caution don't depend on the TC or AH'g because before you know it you'll be *** over teacup [read: loose] so fast you'll be in the ditch before you realize it.
Take TIME to learn your car's idosynchrocies, especially the lousy GY tires.
Mileage is I thought much pooer than the LS series motors, and rightly so since you're making a lot more HP.
Just take it into account when nailing it.
Oh and do get the Mild 2 Wild IF you've the NPP option. An outrageously inexpensive, great little contraption rendering aftermarket exhaust systems unnecessary for all but those demanding a LOT of exhast note.
Don't need to tell you to enjoy, you already are.
