Although by reading this it seems as if there is a little animosity between the participants who disagree. If all parties involved were sitting around a table with a pitcher of beer, having this same discussion, it would be great few hours.....

by the way..... with the flaws the car may have I'm surely not trading it in on a new FIAT 500 Abarth, just because it may have a cool interior! LOVE The Z! (and yes I put a Caravaggio seat in it! )

LOL... You can always count on one guy to push it way too far... Come on now, the design itself is great, and I would think most people would agree that things are where it should be. Materials however are a different story... I personally feel the 3LZ goes a long way, but yeah it's no Caravaggio...

So, what's wrong with the gauges? Surely you jest with a Civic having better ones?... I gotta say I did prefer the background on the C5 Z06's gauges (that checkerboard pattern looked awesome with the black light!), but again I think they're quite nice.

...And it's funny you had to bring up the 1999 TransAm. A coworker just traded in his 1996 for a 1999, and let me tell you _that_ interior is poop. Made my 3LZ interior feel like a Ferrari LOL.

Z06 compared to other NEW vehicle interior designs =

I mean for the love of god, my friends 1999 trans am looks better.

I personally would do it again But if I had $5000 sitting, I'd be mighty tempted in some Caravaggio seats! I could use the extra lateral support (and the nice leather smell too ).

I'd definitely agree to a 4LZ package

I guess you missed the point ... I was only commenting on the interior .. not doubt the "Z06" is a great car ... but the sub-"KIA" interior needs some serious attention ....

there is nothing here to hide ... been there ... own one ... smelled the glue ... you name it .... facts r facts.

The Z06 is a great ride for the money (for any money, for that matter). But the interior is a huge let down. It isn't even so much the design but the materials. The rubber dash and door panels are nasty. Over time they start to get a whitish haze build up on them, and they are terrible to the touch (like rubbing your fingers on a cheap basketball). If they just covered every frickin' square inch of the interior with a quality leather, most of my objections to the interior would be answered.

Any way, I finally couldn't take looking and touching the interior so I had to sell the car. The performance just couldn't overcome the terminal nastiness of the interior. But that's just me.

Look at the new CTS-V - GREAT interior. So don't tell me that GM can't do better. The Z06 is $15 to $20K more than the V, so no excuses.

Even the Malibu has a better interior than the vette!
