I've been on the fence due to "battery drain" issues. For now I just pull the fuse when I need to but I'd love to be able to control the exhaust by remote.
Should I be worried about any battery drain issues with this accessory?
Cheers

I have had mine for 1 1/2 years on my 2008 Z.....no battery drain issues. There are two ways of installing the piece and one is specifically designed for eliminating the battery drain problems. Worked for me and it sounds great!

If the car is going to be left IDLE for an extended period of time (3-4 weeks) without starting. The control should be set to “OFF” prior to shutting the car down. This will minimize battery drain. In the “OFF” position 4+ months is not an issue or if you use a battery maintainer it’s not an issue. The last 2 pages show an alternate method of installation that has 0 battery drain but will cause the exhaust to always start in the “OFF” or wild setting.
Since my car is a DD and the longest it has sat w/o running has been 10 days I feel comfortable with this installation method.
I'll be ording this later today.
Cheers

Tom...the instructions show two types of installation and both are extremely simple. As advertised, 5 minute maximum! The method that I used is the one shown for 'no battery drain'...works great with no issues.
Have fun and enjoy!

I just ordered. The $$ I saved by not buying a cat-back exhaust will be used to replace my OEM Comp Gray wheels for the newer chrome Spyder wheels.

I ordered mine last week (on sale for $89.99), received it in two days and finally got around to installing it today.
I'm no rocket scientist, and even with a bad back, knees and requiring reading glasses I was in and out in 2 minutes.
What a neat and must have accessory.

Thanks for the kit! This was a great first mod. I put this on 2 minutes after buying my Z, and was great on the 300 mile ride home. I had fun experimenting with it, but now I keep it mostly open except for cruising on the highway.

That severely limits what the Lear unit will talk to, Homelink by copying frequency will work with almost anything. That is why only homelink will work with the MTW unit.
