In terms of the Wow factor and visual HP, indeed it does....but even my built LPE 415 LT5 would have its hands full with a bone stock LS9 ZR1.

Hopefully that will be my garage one day. Have the C4, now wait a few years and the C6 will join the stable.

Great pic !
The new ZR-1 is an awesome car , no doubt. The C4 ZR1 was an awesome car. Technology moves on. I'm just glad to be around to see it. Hopefully one day a new Z will take place with my LPE 385. The stroker 441 ZR1 will be sold and replaced with the new.

The LT-5 is definitely the best looking engine ever put in a vette (and one of the best looking of all time).

I hope to replicate the pair in my garage in the not-too-distant future...

by far , a work of art, the LS9 performance is great but the Lotus built LT5 was a groundbreaking step for the corvette, a very special motor.

I agree, have always thought of it as a great part of vette history.

Hmm... that may very well being true. I also think the C4 ZR-1 was one of the most exciting cars of its time. That being said, I also think that the LT-5 was a mistake in a way. It was overly expensive and heavy, and offered very little performance advantage over the LT1. They should have just come out with a supercharged LT1 on the ZR-1 and then they would have had a dominating beast, much like the C6 ZR1 is now.

Thanks Tony for posting a picture of my C6ZR1. I owned 2 C4 ZR-1's and they were great cars but the current ZR1 is superior in every way and costs about the same in our current deflated currency.

Not meant as a flame, so please enlighten me. Why did Chevy have Lotus (a British company) and Mercury Marine (Boat builder?) do the LT5? Couldn't Chevy develop something inhouse, to keep it a true Chevrolet Corvette?

Was wondering the same- I never knew this about the older ZR1.
