Default warranty and engine mods

Has anyone been denied warranty for having headers, CAI and a tune? I would suspect the fact that the tune alone would void your warranty?

Headers = no warranty (and illegal if cats are removed or moved)
Tune = no warranty (GM says they can tell even if tune removed)
CAI = warranty should not be lost - may depend on dealer and amount of modifications to fit the CAI
Cat-back-exhaust = warranty should not be lost (I know, not in original question)

Depends on the dealer. My service manager showed net a C6 convertible with a supercharger on it and it was being covered under warranty.

We have a dealer here that does this too.....the warranty is 100% supported by the dealer, not GM. It doesn't really matter to the purchaser who warranties it I suppose, but people need to realize that GM has opted out.

I would say minor repairs would be covered.... But the second anything major comes... the warranty would be voided.

My dealer will honour a CAI so long as they install it. I can't comment on the headers and especially the tune.

The after-cat exhaust is also a no-brainer:fully covered.

I asked the dealership owner who I know well & has an 06z before I modded my car about warranty. I told him that I would not even bring it in if I thought the mods caused the problem. He said they would warranty anything they could as long as they were confident that I did not cause the problem. Its all about relationships & trust. I also do most of my business with them. I live in a small community & I know this is not always the case. Most likely the exception. I would have modded it anyway.
