Default ZR1 Side Skirt Installation

Can someone point me to the link that posted the complete install process for the GM ZR1 side skirts on a C6 Z06? I know I came across it last year but I cannot find it. I thought someone took step by step pictures just like the front splitter installation.

Appreciate any help.

Actually I did a search and came up with nothing.... I have the ZR1 side skirts sitting in my garage but I am wondering if I should put holes in my rocker panel or just glue them and use the screws on the either ends.... If anyone can chime in and provide us with some insights on how and the best way to do this .... will be of great help!!!

it is a very easy install, basically there is a new rear guar you install and then there is drill points on the rocker panel that you drill a small pilot hole to pop rivet them on, then under the front fender the secure with 2 stock bolt holes

each side took me maybe 30 min to isntall

very easy about as easy as a air intake install i would say

Thank you for your feedback. That is what thought, so did you end up using double sided tape on the sides? Or just the screws alone are good enough to secure this piece properply?

Yeah there are a few of us on here. I don't think my Z is going to leave the garage any time soon. I'm hoping the snow this weekend misses us...

How do the vertical guards attach? Do you have to drill holes for those to? And if so, do you have to remove the rear wheels?

On the drilling of the rocker panel, I would assume you have to raise the car on jacks to be able to drill that hole right?

yes take off the rear wheels and also yes side of car needs to be up to get the drill under there. if is a simple install.

the rear guards attach via 2 already used holes and you have to drill for 1 more.

I tried the install myself... It's very straight forward. The only issue with my car is that I have the front apsis splash gaurd n that comes in the way. Imma have a body shop alter it to have them put on but I installed the rear pieces myself!!

Can you post pics when you have this done? I am eager to see how people solve this problem.

Thanks

Mock them up on the car. It was obvious for me with my RPI skirts.

is anyone going to post pics of where to drill? I’m waiting to do side skirts as well. I have Apsis front splash guards. I’d love to see how the body shop made it work.

Not the greatest help since mine are already installed but here's a video trying to explain and show what I did. Hope it helps some, but once you start you will see how easy it is.
