Default Akrapovic Exhaust installed pictures on Z06

Hi everyone.

Here are the pictures of an Akrapovic Titanium exhaust installed on a Z06 with a built motor and MTI headers.

Mated to his MTI headers.

As expected, it fit perfectly and mated up to the headers with very little modification.

You can see the valves nicely in this picture

Close up of the valve.

Nice!

Thanks for looking.

I have to disagree, I think it suits the bumper opening.

And for a more subtle look the tips are available in Carbon.

Since these pics were taken I've 'adjusted' the tips such that they are all the same distance apart, no more 2+2 look...if I get tired of this I can go back to the 2+2 look with a wrench and about 15 seconds of time.

The mod of the stock Akrapovic mid/x pipe, so it would mate up to my MTI collectors, took about 10 minutes at a muffler shop, chopped 6" of length and then expanded the outlet from 3" OD to 3" ID...this also resulted in the X pipe going down in weight to 7.42 lbs. All the rest of the work/install was done at home in my garage...working slowly it took about 4 hours.

Cheers, Paul.

PS. As for the size of the tips looking silly, beauty is certainly in the eye of the beholder, but with that said, sitting next to a stock Z06, the stocker now looks like it's got pea shooters. I explained it to my wife by saying: "Honey, it's a guy thing, we all tend to like big tips."!

I guess I'm gunna have to stand corrected on the "we all" part

For the record, stock tips are 3.5", Akrapovic's are 5"...maybe if there's enough negative feedback about the tips they'll come out with something smaller. It's a simple clamp on design thus a relatively easy fix.

Cheers, Paul.

Yeh, too big. Looks like a cartoon. Maybe if they were a 3x5 oval, and a coupla grand cheaper?

I wonder if you can just change the tips of the factory mufflers? Though a 5" tip is a tab big however the CF is sick!

Love the entire system, but I also think the tips are too large.

Can the tips be adjusted on how far they stick in/out from the back of the car?

Those are nice, but Four Grand is a little steep for most guys looking for just exhausts.

I kinda like it and would take it over the stock system anyday but maybe going to a 4 1/2" tip might look better.
