Stupid Question: Does the Z06 lock-out on reverse while in motion?
Sorry for the stupid question guys, I am new to this car and felt that the 5th gear positioning can easily be confused or bumped to the Reverse gear... so I have been a little hesitant to shift into 5th with the fear of jumping into the R.
So with that said, I did not want to accidentally try it without doing the research first... does the reverse gear lockout or are you able to shift into reverse on accident?
I know I have to learn the positioning better but I figured I'd ask and rather not assume... wouldn't want to force it in reverse while in forward motion

Yes - reverse is locked out when moving forward. I sometimes find that I can't get into reverse when moving slowly forward (in a parking lot). Of course that is how the car should work. I think reverse locks out at about 1 mph.
The lock-out is electronic (a solenoid) and seems to work fine.
Go for it - don't be afraid to shift into 5th!!!!
Cheers - Jim

My 08 won't shift into reverse if the car is moving forward even at crawling speed.

If your banging gears from 4th to 5th...... I'd hope you would be on a circle track. Your carrying some serious speed.
And reverse is so far over there... it would have one bad misshift to hit R instead of 6th. Its sometimes hard to get it in R when your trying.
