Default Quantum Motorsports Brake Cooling Kit Pics

Just some pics of the Quantum Motorsport brake cooling kit installed. I was very impressed with the construction and engineering quality of the kit.

And here's a pic of the Carbotech 1-piece brake pads installed.

There are now downsides to installing these are there?

Going to be changing my rotors so i was thinking i may as well put these on there as the same time.

The only downside is having to cut the bracket that hold the active handling/ABS connector bracket. Highly reccommended mod for anyone running HPDEs.

In addition, I wrapped all of the ball joints and tie rod ends with heavy gauge aluminum foil and loosely secured the foil with tie wraps.

Think these would live on a street car? I mean actually last 10's of thousands of miles? Any concern with water on a street driven car?

I like the idea of them but they would need to be street friendly as well as track worthy.

Thanks.

Not a problem at all. I've been running them since they came out 2 (?) years ago.

After i crack my DBA 4000 Disc i switch to Coleman and start some mesurement.

Left: Original
Right: Quantum Brake Cooling Kit
Outside Temp. 20°Celsius
Mesurepoint: middle of Disc

Results:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/6673058...n/photostream/

The speed what i drive at the Test was 40 to 90miles. I do some heating stints and some cooling stints. The temperature looks like almost the same i never mesured a much cooler temp. on the right side with the Coolicg kit

Question: ist the original Airflow thrue the Tube not good enough?

Looks good! Keep an eye on the taper (wear) of the Carbotech pads...

Taper has nothing to do with the pad construction, its with your caliper.

With this kit do you have to drill the upright for the bolts that secure the duct plate?

No, this is a straight bolt-on application (Quantum Brake duct kit).

My Quantum brake ducts have the shield integrated on the bolt-on duct assembly, installed for 18 months.

I am digging up this post, as I am considering this kit for my C5 (which also requires the DRE brake ducts) as part of my HDPE prep.

Who has collected data on this kit? How much additional cooling does it provide?
