Default New DashTronix Radar Projector™: Display Escort™ or Beltronics™ detectors on your HUD

announces another exciting new product for HUD-equipped sixth generation Corvette! Introducing the Escort™ and Beltronics™ version of the Radar Projector™.(list of compatible detectors below) Now, in HUD equipped vehicles, you can have signal strength information* from Escort™ and Beltronics™ radar detector information displayed on your HUD!

The tiny Radar Projector™ comes with everything you need right out of the box. It plugs into your car at the OBD-II port under the steering column with the included cable. It automatically controls the power to your Escort™ and Beltronics™ unit using a standard 4- or 6-position telephone cord by sensing when you turn your engine on and off without the need for tapping fuses, wires or using the lighter outlet. With its incredible efficiency and intelligence it's designed to be left plugged in to your car at all times. We have a solution for users that have something already plugged into the OBD-II port. There is an additional proprietary splitter that allows two devices to be plugged into the OBD-II port at the same time, which is available at the time of purchase. That way you can use both devices simultaneously. The Radar Projector™ is truly 100% plug-and-play! The Radar Projector™ is compatible with all model years of the C6 Corvette, 2005-2011.

The install instructions are available on our website.
Here is the link - DashTronix Radar Projector installation instructions

Signal strength information from your Escort™ or Beltronics™ unit is transferred to the HUD so you don't have to take your eyes off the road to have radar situational awareness. There is simply nothing else like the Radar Projector™ available! Regularly $229.95, the introductory sale price of $199.95 makes the Radar Projector™ an amazing value!

For more information or to order your Radar Projector™, visit http://www.dashtronix.com. Units are in stock and ready to ship!

So from the limited output from the RD, there is no way of displaying the radar band? Hmmm..............Escort needs to update this.

Some observations/questions from the video:
  • Signal strength appears to be displayed using a black bar that grows from left to right against a blue-green background. The signal strength display would be far more intuitive as a blue-green bar that grows from left to right against a black background. That way a solid blue-green bar would indicate the strongest signal.
  • The small diamond with numbers 1-5 appears to be a redundant display of signal strength. Would it be possible to alter that little icon to display the radar band (X, Ka, etc.)?
  • How does the remoted display indicate fixed and red light camera locations?
  • Is there a remoted display of GPS signal acquired/lost?
  • Is there a remoted display when a false signal location is STORED?
Do you anticipate the availability of firmware updates to fix bugs and add new & enhanced features (similar to the GM PAL)? If so, will those be downloadable and locally installable by the user?

Thanks for the questions.

The signal strength is indicated by the blue bar which grows from right to left. More blue bar = higher signal strength.

The Escort and Beltronics radar detectors do not output radar band info, gps signal, red light camera, or false signal stored indications. The Escort and Beltronics windshield mounted detectors output signal strength. We are only able to display the data output the detectors currently have.

The diamond icons are used to show the signal strength level state. 1 being the lowest strength and 5 being the highest strength.

If at some point Escort and Beltronics update their windshield mount radar detectors to output more data we would be able to display that info on the HUD.

Is it compatible with an Escort 9500 ci Passport? Does the alert bar replace the larger mph numerals and replace it with the smaller mph numerals above it?

This version is not compatible with the escort 9500ci. It is only compatible with the model numbers listed in the post above.

The video above shows the RP projecting the signal strength of the radar signal.
