Default RPI Designs Carbon Splitter(Thanks Josh)

I just finished up the installation of my new RPI carbon fiber splitter. This was a simple install and it was my pleasure working with our supporting vendor RPI.(Josh) Im very happy with this new look. What else can you do when you have a foot of snow outside! I didnt even use a jack.

Was this a direct bolt on for the z06 using the stock mounting holes?

Yes sir! I laid on the ground took off the oem splitter, cleaned the area well, they give you some 3m foam to stick on the new splitter and bolted it in the stock holes. It took around 35-40 minutes total. I love the result. I plan on doing carbon sides when the price comes down to earth!

You might want to think about getting the front bumper reinforcement.

I was thinking about this mod but after hearing the bumper needs to come off for the reinforcement I decided against it for now.

Looks awesome. Just do not go over 100mph.

Default Over 100 mph ( bumper reinforcement )

I was told as long as your not going over 100 mph for long periods its not needed! Has anybody not installed the reinforcement and had an issue on this forum? Ive heard folks hitting things or low drives being an issue but never heard a problem from high speeds? Its bolted on just as good as the oem splitter? Please advise if speed has caused a failure or damage because a reinforcement wasnt installed. I spoke to a few vendors who said it was sales by fear! (You MUST buy a reinforcement)

No, that is not the case. The only time you need a reinforcement is if you do over 120 range for extended periods of time. We have one on our 2010 Grand Sport and it has done well for over a year at speeds well over 100mph. You'll be just fine, unless you want to track race everyweek at Lowe's Motor Speedway!!

Can you use the front reinforcement (ZR1 piece) with the front splitter sold by RPI (which I think is the LG piece)?

Do they work together?!

Yes, you can get the reinforcement piece from GM actually. I think its $150.00 range.

looks great!!!

Josh and RPI are great to deal with. I have done business with them few times and was always happy with the product and great packaging. I just recently received some parts for my 2010 camaro from them and as always they were as expected...
