Purchase a skip ship eliminator plug from one of the major corvette suppliers for about $20. Its a very simple install.

Shift before 14 mph or shift after 20 if you are being easy on the throttle. If you are aggressive then you can shift between 14 and 20. No skip shift eliminator required.

My 08 Z skip shift was eliminated with the blown "Smart Fuse". Going on 3 years and no CEL yet. And it's a lot cheaper and easier than the plug method.

If you are "pooching" the car (i.e. driving like and old lady on sunday afternoon), push the clutch in, pull the shifter out of first into the neutral gate, push the shifter to the right, then back to the left and down into second gear, then let the clutch out.

Sounds confusing but very easy to do. Try it.

I don't understand how people can spend $50,000 to $125,000 on a Corvette but can't let themselves spend $20 for a CAGS eliminator. Spend the $20, and forget about "driving" around the skip shift feature.
