Hawks ceramic pads squeaking so badly
Switched to hawks ceramics pads and the squeaking is becoming unbearable. The entire roll from 5mph to a stop squeals so loudly. I purchased these thinking they would have less brake dust and noise than oem pads but the dust is about the smale and the noise is 10 times louder and more frequent. Any ideas on a fix?

Did you bed the pads in per/Hawk recommendations? Did you replace, turn, or clean the rotors before install?
At the minimum when changing pad brands you need to get any old pad material off of the rotors (steel wool or sandpaper). I have found that a good cleaning of all the old brake dust build-up on the calipers can help.
I also make sure to do a good cleaning of the pad pins (4 per side on the front and 3 per side on the rear). I use a VERY small amount of copper anti-seize on the padlet contact points (the little half circle cut-outs on each side of the padlet (I apply just a touch and wipe off all excess).
Finally did you get HAWK HP+ (black box) or HPS (black and blue)? The HP+ are track/autocross pads and squeal. The HAWK PC (yellow box) pads are supposed to be very quiet, but are not really very performance oriented.

Ahh, Hawk pads. They call them Hawk for a reason, as they scream like a hawk. I refuse to buy this brand after my last experience. Had hawk HPS with fresh turned rotors, clean calipers, correct amount of anti-seize, and proper bedding. They were SCREAMING. Im not talking a little annoying squeak either, im talking so loud it can be heard from at least a mile. They were monsterously loud. Feel your pain OP.

The squeal from my brakes are embarassingly loud..
not really sure what I'll do. Maybe have a friend check my brakes out or buy new pads

The squealing is certainly not normal. There is either a faulty pad issue, impure surface or something else having an impact on this for you.

i've had hawk HPS pads for around 2K miles and i've had no squealing issues either. I installed them with a buddy, we sprayed the rotors with brake cleaner and wiped them down each time. Then when the pads went in, checked the brake pins, and put the lube that comes in the small little packet on the back of the pad (never really understood why this reduces squeal but it does) and then did the break in for the pads.. Something like 3 hard stops from 40-0mph and then 3 from 60-0 and then you park the car and let it cool down or something, i dont remember. it says it all on the box
So, idk, my hawk pads have been good to me so far
