Stock Z vs Kawasaki Concours 1400- rollin at 40 mph
OK, I already know the answer, but thought I'd let you ponder the question. Kawasaki's Concours 14 is a super touring bike with 1,400 cc's and 102 lb's tq. Rollin from 40 mph in a controlled environment, it was a really good run. Any guesses?

Borla stingers with X-pipe and Halltech CAI. We were rollin at 40 so can't answer the 1/4 mile question. What I can tell you is the Z was 1/2 car ahead when I shifted 4th!

Since the "Connie" isn't anywhere near the fastest K's, I would say it would likely lose to a well driven Z. But not by much.
Now, if it were run against the ZX10R, the Z would lose bigtime.
Lots of car lengths then. Hell, my 11 year old ZX12R will kill any stock or bolt on Z. Or ZR1 for that matter. 2 seconds @ 150mph is a loooonnnggg way!
However, if higher speeds are needed, the Z will likely creep up on a motorcycle, as motos are very bad @ cD. Motos make decent thrust from brute power though...

I hope to GOD this was on a closed course. I just learned we are not aloud to talk about speeding or street racing and definetly no "kill stories" on this forum. Please update if this was a closed course or not because I feel very uncofortable reading this.

That was too funny! I just read your other locked post....and yeah you can't post anything illegal or dangerous in this forum (common sense). Just remember if you ever decide to do any of those types of activities, make sure you let people know you were on a race course or a closed road in Mexico. Then you'll be fine.
Plus you'll find most of the people and moderators in the Z06 forum are pretty cool. But don't try to post ANYTHING in the general C6 section....buncha ****'s on that side. I think most of the "Older" crowd are in that section, and will eat you alive if you ever post anything slightly questionable or non General C6 related!! lol

Well, I have both and I have a lot of knowledge of the performance figures for both, but have never run them side by side. Here is my considered opinion (assuming both are driven by people who know how to launch and drive/ride them).
From a dead stop the bike pulls a commanding lead. 0-60 is around 3 flat on the bike. To 100 the bike is still king getting there in the sixes to the Z06 in the 8.0 range. 1/4 mile things are getting more interesting. The Kawasaki gets there first by about 1/2-3/4 second (high 10's to mid 11's). But they are both at about the same trap speed, so the bleeding has stopped (about 125 trap speed).
After that it's all Z06. But the question is, at what speed do they run even from a roll? I've thought about this question many times as I am a certified speed junkie on both vehicles.
BTW, the 2010 and newer Kawasaki is limited to 154. I've seen it a few times. But all accounts the bike is good for 160 or so without the limiter. The Z06 in the 190's.

YES, closed course. Read my original post. Like I said, we rolled at 40 MPH and when I shifted to 4th (didn't look at MPH) I had the bike by 1/2 of a car length. Kawi was really fast, but from 40 to 140 I think the Z has it. Either way, pretty amazing a 3,100 lb car can hang with a fast touring bike!
