Is it possible to remove a transmission out of a C6Z06 without removing the torque tube from the engine bellhousing? The GM book calls for dropping the entire torque tube. Just wondering if there are any shortcuts anyone can share with me before I dig into this tomorrow morning. Thanks.

Yes, the trans/diff can be removed without pulling the TT. After removing the rear cradle, remove the diff from the back of the trans, it makes removing the trans easier. Just make sure to tilt the trans as you lower it so you don't bind the shifter shaft through the back of the TT access hole. Just be careful removing/placing the trans cooler lines.

Hey thanks for the response. Yeah, we pulled out the trans. and diff. as one unit without disconnecting the torque tube from the motor. I think that saved some time.
