You should feel them after the burnishing procedure has been completed. Based on the ZR1's I've driven before and after the burnishing, there is no comparison in braking performance.

When you say squeal, how loud? I ask because I just picked up a ZR. I want to track occasionally, but love how quiet these are right now. On the other hand have experienced green fade on the street and it sucks. If i do 2 hard stops from 60, the second stop I can push as hard as I can and the pads can't grip enough to engage ABS. Not even close to engaging it.

I previously had carbotech XP's on my z06 and they squealed like a mack truck after bedding properly and tracked. The braking was awesome, just extremely loud and embarrassing. Before carbotech the stock Z06 pads squealed some a low speed but not too much of an issue just not the bite like carbotech.

Thanx
Joe

No squeaks here and I use my brakes as hard as anyone on the track.

Almost 9000 miles now and mine squeak intermittently at slow speeds. Still need to burnish.

Perfect, Thanx. I just need to find a place out here near LA to do it. I wish there was an old runway I could use.

mine squeak as well.
burnishing complete.
In the owners manual it says this is normal.
Even if it is normal i think it stinks to roll up to a stoplight in a 120k car with squeaky breaks. My 2c

My '10 has no brake noise either.

I really do...only get to use it about 4 days a month, given work/travel schedule.

But, I love it when I'm in it...! (heck, I love it just knowing I have it !)

One day, it'll get better...

My squeal under low speed light braking. Burnished and 8 track days, if you have ever been the track, every car with good brakes squeals....

I actually think it comes from not tracking the car for a few months in my experience...

I would expect that a couple hard brakes from 160+ down to 30 mph in turn one will do the trick

18K miles, brakes squeal like a stuck hog at low speeds. They havent been burnished yet.
Noise seems to go away after some hard brakeing. Embarassing comming up to a light
at low speed sounds like a UPS truck! My old ZO6 is quiet as a mouse with 38K on the clock.

At 8k now and still not yet burnished. Mine will squeal a little when cold when I leave the parking garage but it seems to go away with driving.

Well, I can say mine have not squealed for over 2 months.....

The sad thing is, my car has been in hibernation for over 2 months.

Off topic, I lived in Calgary for a year and it would drive me nuts having to put a ZR1 in hibernation for a few months....your squeaky brakes are saying..."drive me.....drive me"

22,000 miles on my 2009.

Street burnishing was done at about 600-700 miles.

The car doesn't see the track.

Never have had peep out of the brakes.

However....my ears are pretty crappy - so maybe I'm just not hearing it!!!

Butt....I sure can hear the race compounds on my Z06 when they are cold!!!
