Default First time at the 1/4 mile

I had a blast tonight at Heartland Park Topeka. It was the season's last Test and Tune. For the first hour, I had the track to myself. I was able to hot lap the car. My goal for the night was to break into the 11's, and I will say that I'm extremely disappointed that I didn't.

My best runs were as follows:
R/T: .400 (I know, this was just after I readlighted at -.09)
60': 2.018 ( I got it down to 1.97 later on, but didn't do well elsewhere)
330: 5.337
1/8: 7.967 @ 92.94
1000: 10.19
1/4: 12.05 @ 122.40

R/T: .313
60': 2.02
330: 5.341
1/8: 7.975 @ 93.14
1000: 10.212
1/4: 12.068 @ 122.07

R/T .275
60': 1.972
330: 5.377
1/8: 8.072 @ 89.88
1000: 10.376
1/4 12.272 @ 119.84

I'm happy with my first time, but I know I can do MUCH better with a little bit of driver mods.

Other than the Invo's and shifter (of which I almost griped it off the post...) I'm stock.

I have all of them on my HD video Camera, I'll post tomorrow or the next day.

Need to take that 60' down a few tenths then you'll be there with ease

60ft times are tuff with the Z. It will take some pratice. Make sure you are shifting at 7000.

It's the same here. 1-3 hour long waits depending on how many cars break, which are usually the 18 second civics.

You're just going to need more seat time with the car.

I'll agree with ya there. One thing I know, I can run a 12.15-12.25 without even trying. I got a total of 16 runs last night and most are in that range.

It's not easy. Like anything else it takes practice. You did ok.

The best time I ever got I was actually racing against another car.

A 1.97 sixty foot with street tires is very respectable. You should of easily broke into the 11s with that 60' and 122 traps. Are you granny shifting like crazy thru the rest of the run?

I lift for shifts, if that's what your asking? Other than that, I take it to the red line every time...

Sounds like it. Speed shift and you will easily get into the 11s. Props for a 1.97 sixty foot on regular street tires. That is damn respectable.
