I having issues with my FOB key. After owning my Z06 since Aug. of '06 my #1 FOB key begin acting up. For some reason, the car does not recognize it when I try to open doors. So I'll have to use the key, open the trunk to get access inside the car, insert FOB in glove box to start the car. I switch to my #2 FOB and all is well for while. But I recently lost my #2 FOB. I wend back to the #1 FOB just so can move the car around temporarily. I now purchase another #2 FOB from the dealer but I can't program both FOB. I followed the instruction from the manual and several instruction I got from this forum without luck. My issue is my DIC is NOT responding after turning my key 5x w/in 5 seconds as per most instruction I've read from both the manual and here from the forum. So I have 2 FOB with only the #1 partly working. But its really getting embarrassing as I'd have to wait later in the day so I don't wake up my neighbor when I start the car cuz the alarm sounds off momentarily when I open the door and only stop after I hurry and place FOB key in the glove box. Thanks in advance for your help. I thought I'd try here first before I bite the bullet and go to my local dealer and have them program it using their tech tool pay $$$$. TIA
Check the owners manual and replace the battery in the #1 FOB. It should work, then you should be able to program the #2 FOB.
Thanks but done that already. Beside, the issue is getting into programming mode. Where I get stock is after turning key 5x from the trunk key, DIC does not respond and instruct me to insert FOB key into glove box.

I'm having the exact same issue. I posted a thread on the C6 tech section.
If the FOB works in the glove box, I doubt its a programming issue at all. It sounds like the FOB is programmed fine but the car and FOB are not communicating without direct contact. If both FOBs are doing it (and FOB batteries are good), its likely the car, perhaps the RCDLR or other FOB/car comm component. Also, always check your car battery and eliminate that first as a possible cause.
mine lost programming recently doing a battery swap but minutes later it worked so that was fun for that short period wondering what was going on with alarm on, stuck sitting in the car etc.....
