[Z06] Any regrets going to high compression & E85?

Burning Brakes
oh, i was referring to Mopar Jimmy's knee jerk response. There are owners here running E85 for a couple years without issue. If you have access to E85 and you want to bump compression or go FI, E85 is the ticket. If you're worried about resale value or mpg get a Honda.

I don't have it but my issue is availability. It won't be around if government substidies stop and very few stations around me have it.
I drove Jim Hall's car at Autobahn and it has unbelievable smoooth power and response. I think from a performance point it is all good!

If the ethanol price goes ski high, then I suspect most stations in Missouri will start selling 100% pure gasoline. If a few stations start selling 100% pure gas cheaper then the E10 stations, they will be forced to sell 100% gas to stay competitive.

"What the industry doesn’t want to see, however, is an end to a separate tax credit for ethanol made not from corn but non-foodstuffs like switchgrass, wood chips and even the leaves and stalks of corn.
Known as cellulosic ethanol, no one is selling it just yet due to its higher R&D and production costs. But the industry hopes to soon, and the production tax credit is up to $1.01 per gallon."

old thread I know.
I have an 02 C5Z. Swapped in bigger injectors (rebuilt GTPs), changed PCM P59, added in flex sensor and connected the harness to P59 computer.
used Hptuners to enable Flex fueling.
Still fine tuning and running great!

It depends if you keep the compression and cam choice to a point where it is still drivable on pump gas but just makes more power with flex fuel and E85 in the tank or if you go all in and run 12.5:1 + and pretty much need to have the car on E85 at all times. I wouldn't go E85 only if the car sees much street duty.
